The Story of Fury:
(Inspired by the work of George R.R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire.) Orys Baratheon acquired this Valyrian steel blade from House Durradon upon its defeat and his ascension to Lord of Storm’s End. The blade bears the mark of the stag of House Baratheon, as this was also the sigil of House Durradon. Orys named the blade Fury and whilest he reigned it never left his side. Fury was passed down through the generations until it eventually wound up in King Robert Baratheon’s large collection of blades. King Robert, being partial to his war hammer, never paid much mind to the priceless heirloom from Old Valyria.
Actual Design and Construction:
The blade was forged by Windlass Steelcrafts using 1085 high carbon steel. I altered the ricasso of the blade by adding concave curvature to each side where it enters the guard. I hand etched my drawing of the Baratheon sigil onto both sides of the blade. The guard is fashioned from three separate pieces which were pinned together from the inside with hardened steel pins. The base of the guard is carved from brass with a recess that accommodates the bottom half of a ¾ inch brass tube. The quillions of the guard are whitetail deer antlers which run throughout the brass tube and are pinned and epoxied into place. I carved the handle from South American Bocote. The base of the handle has a recess to cover the upper half of the ¾ inch brass tube used in the guard construction. The pommel consists of two pieces. First a carved brass crown which fits onto the tang and is secured with a hidden nut that holds the entire take-down hilt assembly securely. Threaded onto the tang, over the top of the hidden nut, is the second piece, which I fashioned as brass stag antlers which are surrounded by the crown. All the brass fixtures are treated with a patina

Sheath Construction:
The sheath is a traditional dagger design (wet formed to the blade with hand stitching down the back spine) constructed of 4-5 oz premium veg tan leather. The body of the sheath is, stained walnut. The leather throat I tooled with the same image of a stag that I created for the sigil on the blade. The chape and the throat are both stained light brown with black antiquing.
