This commissioned piece was made with a reclaimed axehead that I cut into the current shape.  The head displays a hand-etched Alaskan bushpilot scenes on one side and an Alaskan mountain scene on the other.  The belly plate is crafted from mild steel onto which I etched an Alaskan Moose.  The plate is attached to the hickory handle with solid brass nails.  The bottom six and half inches of the handle are wrapped in deer hide lacing for a comfortable grip.
